In celebration of its 13th anniversary, we’re thrilled to bring back, 13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests. 13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests, featuring Dean & Britta His music is often described as reflecting the Canadian prairie with a unique blend of hushed vocals, vivid lyrics, and intricately crafted arrangements, drawing on influences such as Neil Young, Wilco, and Elliot Smith.ħ:30 p.m. We welcome the songwriter Andy Shauf, and are pleased to reschedule his performance from June so that he and his band could be part of our Sound Series: Block Party, as part of a tour supporting his most recent, highly lauded album Neon Skyline on ANTI records. She moved to Louisville in 2017 and released her first album At Weddings, featuring her sparse arrangements and vivid lyrics, produced by Owen Pallett. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Tomberlin moved around a bit growing up as a result of her father’s work as a Baptist pastor. We welcome singer/songwriter Tomberlin (aka Sarah Beth Tomberlin) for an intimate solo performance as part of tour with Andy Shauf, supporting her latest EP Projections on Saddle Creek Records. Tines will lead this group of dynamic singers though a medley of gospel songs, spirituals, and hymns celebrating black history, spirituality, and soul, from his recently released live album We Shall Overcome Someday. We kick off the day with a high-energy, spiritually-energizing, and soul-stirring set by Pastor Deryck Tines and Pittsburgh’s Lemington Chorale. Pastor Deryck Tines & the Lemington Chorale Presented by The Warhol’s Sound Series, a varied roster of artists will perform on a stage adjacent to the museum on Isabella Street, including Pastor Deryck Tines & the Lemington Chorale, Tomberlin, Andy Shauf, 13 Most Beautiful…Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests, featuring Dean & Britta, and Dean Wareham plays Galaxie 500’s On Fire.Įntrance at Federal and Isabella Streets. Food and beverages will be available to purchase on site, along with hands-on t-shirt, tote bag, or poster making. An early fall afternoon and evening of live music in a relaxed and festive environment outdoors in our North Shore neighborhood. We’re pleased and grateful to return to live, in-person performance, featuring internationally touring artists, with our inaugural Sound Series: Block Party.
